A head start in AEM: how Holcim experienced our AEM Author course

In our Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Author course, participants enhance their authoring skills. Holcim was one of the first participants, read about their experience with our training.

Knowing how to author can make all the difference in the world when building a website. Therefore, we+ launched an Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Author course for people that are new to AEM or are looking to enhance their authoring skills. Holcim was one of the first participants, hear their experience below.

Q: How did you initially find we+ and our AEM Author Course?

A: “We were already working with we+ beforehand. When we saw a post on LinkedIn showing us they were launching an Author Course for AEM, we were immediately interested. We were looking for a type of developer training at the time and since we already had and still have a good relationship with we+, we went looking for the Author Course.”

Q: How did your team experience the AEM Author course?

A: “It was great, we found it very interesting. We were the first 2 people from Holcim to take the course and we were glad that we did. Even though we both had very different profiles on our knowledge of AEM, we both learned a lot. This was Katya’s first experience with AEM. I already had a couple years of experience and have been working with the program since 2019. The course gave Katya a head start to easily comprehend and understand the program and I received a lot of tips & tricks which helped me work faster and effortlessly.”

“The training course was a very nice introduction to AEM. You immediately know everything you need to get started.”

Q: Did your team find benefits after taking the Training course?

A: “Yes of course, Katya just began using AEM not long before we took the training and you can see her confidence in using the platform, you can see she knows what she is doing. I received tons of tips which were very valuable for everyday use.”

Q: What were your experiences with our AEM Expert, Céline Legrand, was she the right person for the training?

A: “You could definitely see her experience. Especially that she worked with a lot of different clients in the past and she knew the program in and out. She gave me a lot of ideas that helped me do tedious tasks a lot faster. She was very efficient in her use of time and she made the course very interesting and not boring. If we had trouble understanding something she had a lot of examples to show us a different perspective. All in all she knew the platform well and made sure the experience was very good. She was the perfect fit for the job.”

Q: Would you recommend other companies to take the Training course as well?

A: “Absolutely, AEM can be somewhat daunting the first time you see it. But once you know how it works, it is not a very difficult platform. When you want to develop a website, you know where you want the parts. When you know how to author, you can design things for your website in a much better way. Instead of just saying where you want a part of the website to be, you can make it yourself. This also helps you better understand your website, what leads to where and things like that. Knowing how to author just makes you create better websites in general, and if you want to change something in the future, you now know how it all connects, making it much easier.”

Q: Is there anything else you would like to add, with regards to our training course?

A: “The training course was a very nice introduction to AEM. You immediately know everything you need to get started. Like I said before having a lot of examples will give us a different perspective if we had trouble understanding something. A lot of Celine’s knowledge was also tied to her own experience. Something we also liked was that Celine asked us (as clients) what parts we needed authoring with specifically and helped us with that.”
